Update from cscairns.com: Added an RSS Page and statement on AI

Sun, 08 Nov 2026 05:00:00 GMT

Added an RSS Page and statement on AI.
No new fiction, but I updated the site to give RSS its own page. Tweaked the "About Me" section stating explicitly how I use AI to write: "I use AI as a brainstorming and research tool, a dictionary and thesaurus. I never use AI to write, rewrite, or advise on what I write. It's 100% all me."

Update from cscairns.com: Added PGP Public Key

Wed, 04 Nov 2026 05:00:00 GMT

I updated cscairns.com with my PGP Public Key and will be signing my PDFs from now on. It doesn’t protect them from abuse, but assures you that I am me and this is my work. (And there is no AI in the stories. Images, yes, stories, no.) If you don’t use PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) and want to play with it, Gpg4win is an open source implementation, completely free. If you want it on Linux, look for GnuPG and Kleopatra. Gpg4win: https://www.gpg4win.org/

Update from cscairns.com: Ouija - Part I

Fri, 30 Oct 2026 04:00:00 GMT

Happy Halloween Eve! Posted 'Ouija Part I.' Hope you like it. I suspect it will have 4 parts. Lt. Hyam Kern will step out of retirement in Part 2. I introduced him in the novel 'For We Are Many (Oswold I).' You can read a sample of that book on cscairns.com. It was a pleasure visiting with him again. If you’re wondering why a homicide detective has a role in this story, you’re thinking along the same lines I am.

Update from cscairns.com: Value Duet - A True Story - a Small Revision

Mon, 05 Oct 2026 04:00:00 GMT

Updated the formatting of the central narrative in 'Value Duet.' Not sure if I like it in a single paragraph or not, but breaking it out across lines was distracting. I think the compact mode has a more conversational feel.

Posted two versions of 'Value Duet' with alternate endings. Do you prefer one over the other? Click 'Contact Me' on cscairns.com to email me. BTW, a ‘Value Duet’ was a real meal deal offered by Panera a few years back.
